Hi guy's
I have a 99 srx700 with a viper skid in it and a 136x1.5 lug I would like to stud the track there are no tunel pretectors on the tunel. I'm not sure on the size of the drive wheels might be 8". Does anyone have this set up and what are you running for stud size? Or can some one tell me the size of stud I could use with out hitting the tunel or cooler and how many stud would work for a light aggesive trail rider.
Thanks Regert

youd have to have 8 tooth drivers to stud a 1.5" lug, however if you trim down the 1.5 lug to 1.25" you can run the 9 tooth drivers and studs, youd need all the protectors back in, just keep an eye on your track tension and it will live with no problems. By going to 8 tooth drivers youd have to regear top and bottom and chain to get back and the 9 tooth drivers will eat up some power because its harder to turn the track around the tighter radius.

Does this mean that my 02 Viper will also be ok leaving the 9t? I have a 1.25 Predator track, 1.375 studs and have purchased tunnel protectors to install. I was a little worried about the front heat exchanger...
Thanks,

Yea I have a 1.25 ripsaw and was told I'd have to put 8 tooth drivers on it to stud it?????....I have reverse so it would be cheaper to just get a nice used 1" track!!! Don is this something your computer told you??? What size stud could I run and be safe??? 96 or more??? Occasional ice riding.
I ran a 1.25 studded on my viper w/8 tooth drivers and had way more than enough room. it can be done with 9 th, you just have to watch track tension. Maxdlx

I noticed that you have the suspensions riser on your sled, this would help with the clearence issue as well, for the tunel. I'm running a 1.5 lug what stud hight could I use with out damage?
