What is the best way to remove the grips on an SRX. My brake side came loose and now my hand warmers don't work. Does the rivet first have to be drilled out? Are they glued on? Thanks
You have to remove the rivet first, heat up the grip by running the sled with grips on high and slowlly twist. It should come off.

Remove rivet, if they don't come off easy cut off carefully. Clean bars well, new rivets and slow dry, heat resistant epoxy to install new grips (fast dry does not like heat).

Thanks. Hopefully the grips are the problem and not something else. I noticed the grip was slowly coming off and then they stopped working. Not sure why it was coming off since the rivet was still in place.

Yup the grips have a series of wires running through them...once the grip comes loose, the wires eventually break and you lose continuity in the circuit and thats why you lose the heat. I had same problem with mine, put new grip on and had heat again.
I had the same problem ! Got mine off and reglued but didn't work any better. So I got a pair of aftermarket grips and have not had a problem with them yet !! Hope you get it figured out nothing worse then cold hands !!

All fixed. It was just the grip. Thanks for all the advice!

Is the heating element part of the rubber grip when you buy OEM replacement?

Yes it is.
