I currently live in Alabama and after being out of the sport for 13 years recently purchased 2 98 SRX's and a 94 Vmax. My parents still live in Indiana so my father picked up the sleds for me and I was hoping to do some riding when I went home for christmas. No luck. Anyway to the point it's killing me to ride so I decided to road trip starting thursday morning to IN to pick up the sled and then head to find some snow. Anyone know where I can find some good snow for a short 2 day trip? Ill be heading north up I69. Also my mom was going to register the snowmobiles in Indiana for me as in Alabama I think it would take them a year to figure out how they could! She called me today and informed me you have to drive to Indianapolis to the DNR? The local DMV told her they couldnt do it. Anyone know why this is? She is taking one srx and the vmax paperwork tomorrow but I forgot and brought the other srx papers with me. I cant purchase MI trail permits without them being registered in IN can I? Just wondering if anyone has some insight for me because I wont have much time to spare in IN if I want to ride this weekend.

Thanks,
Brad

you can buy a trail permit, no registration required. as for snow... anyware in mich ,is good , try the south west corner , they have some groomed trails that start down there and run up that side of the state. also, michigan honors out of state registrations!! good ridin.

Yeah Michigan would be good especially around here and I'm sure the farther north the more you'll find (snow) but we're supposed to get 3-4 days of rain starting Saturday

anywhere in Western MI there is snow for now. Saturday it is supposed to warm up and rain but friday you can try Allegan or anywhere in SW lower MI. there is snow all the way up the Western shoreline as of now.

What a hassle. I read on the Monroe County Snowmobile club's website that an out-of-stater can actually register a sled in Wisconsin. They don't even have to live there. If I did that, I wouldn't need the $18 trail permit. Hmmm.

I heard that Dowagiac area has trails and snow. Supposed to be in the 50's this weekend with rain. Get moving!
