My wife has a 97 Vmax XT, When she purchased it the guy told he it had a front and rear updated suspension from an 2001 SXR. The sled looks like it set lower than standard Vmax. The socks are all rebuildable KYB with white spings. How can I tell what model the suspension came from? The sled rides well and I have the adjuster set on soft postion. The guy she bought it from was a pretty good size guy (250lbs) I have the original rear suspension with all the spings, rear Long shock factory black springs, rails etc. I am pretty sure the original shocks for that sled were not rechargeable type. I think this set up might be from an SRX (7" front, 8" rear) Will the shocks from a 7" fit in the Vmax's front factory set up? ? The sled rides pretty good, just doesn't look high like the factory set up. Here is a pic of the front, I will try to post some pics of the rear this weekend. Thanks Blue

My 2001 SXR sits real low too.

You can kind of see how low in this picture.

sxr and viper have multirate front springs, this gives them a couple more inches of sit in than if you installed the xt front springs. you are also losing some front end height with those skis compared to what cam on it. those are a great handling ski by the way.
lower is better for most all riding.

i bet it handles like a slot car in the trails. mine sat the same as that and was great in the trails. it is when you go off trail that it is easy to bend stuff when they sit that low. bro that bought my sx500r has done 4 lower arms so far off trail.

Thanks guys, Sled does corner well! Yes I like the ski's the front feels really light compared to my Viper. My concern is the rear, the sled sits pretty low there too. I am not sure if its an long travel or 8" out of an SX or SRX how can you tell ? Thanks Again, Blue

The XT and the SXR have the same length shocks, and rear travel. It should sit at the same height as a sxr or viper, the original XT shocks had less sag in them but either will ride well
