I have a 1998 srx 700 I put a homemade power valve tester on it,but I did not fuse the link. It worked fine on my 600 srx.It worked the first time,on the 700 and thats it,I changed the motor, with one that I know works It still does not work,no mater what I try,I belive I may have damaged something else,I have tried runing it at 900 rpm, no luck. Is there a coil or resistor, that my have blown.what do I check next

Bummer. If you remove the pulley cover on the servo motor, start the sled, (I suggest you let it warm up for 3 or 4 minutes so it won't stall), then turn the idle screw down to about 900 RPM and you should see the servo wheel turn and open wide. I wouldn't mess around with any homemade thing or applying 12V when this feature is built in. I'm no expert, but this is one thing I've successfully done myself while working on power valve cable adjustment. I picked up the pointer right here at TY. Good luck. Steve

I made the same and then did as ^ mentioned. I noticed the home made kit only worked with a battery....draws some amps I guess.....now I have marks made on the motor and adjust it that way.....didn't you fuse your home made kit????
