It is acting up a few times each ride witch makes it almost impossible to test for.
I think it is the switch on the thumb throttle.
If you were to guess would it be the thumb throttle switch or the one on the carb rail ?

Hard to say, could be either,check 'em both make sure there returning and
working nice and smooth not binding.
i only had one problem in years and that was the throttle block switch went bad.

Everything was fine last year.
This problem arose this fall when I fired it up. It also had a plugged pilot jet. I cleaned the carbs and ir runs great but acts up from time to time at low throttle pressure. That is why I think it is the culpret.

make sure u reajust the throttle cable properly

ditto, your throttle cable is probably just a little too tight.

if your throttle cable is too tight re-adjust it like this;
1st- set idle to 16- 1,700 rpm's(@ operating temp)
2nd- set throttle end play to 2mm(adjustment for that is down at the carb rack
