bender secondary helix part number

That is what it came off of,, wish I knew the anglr of it. Guess I'll just have to try to measure it up myself.

THX Tony!! I have a 52/42 and it appears to be more aggressive than that. I'll try measuring it up on the weekend to see what I get..

The 9870p helix was originally used for a 98 700SRX that was ported. My last post stated a 9870 helix was a 53/43 so i would expect that the ported helix would be more aggressive. Maybe the starting angle would be close be shift out angle should be higher. Hope this helps.

a "9870" is NOT a 53/43, I checked it on a digital cad machine.

Bender added a "c", and "p" to the helix prefix and they are all differnt angles depending upon the mods to the sled.

examples: 9870, 9870c, 9870p etc.

I DIDN,T GET MY LIST OFF THIS SITE. I ALSO SHOW 53-43. I LIKED IT BETTER WHEN IT WAS NOT A BIG SECRET. MOST OF THE HELIX,s I BOUGHT WERE EARLY ON AND THEIR ALL STAMPED WITH ANGLES. 3:16 (yammie tony)

tripleX, theres a few listed in your other post that are right and alot of incorrect ones. I buy helixs new and used and then have them checked on a digital cad machine, I have to pay $$ to find out the angles, its $15 each to have them checked, I have over 25 helix on my rack, have checked and resold others in which wouldnt be of use to me, so if you do the math I have a decent investment just to find out what they are. No offense intended but I spent money to get it done and I am not going to give it out for free when it cost me $$ to find out on top of buying the helix. If you want to see what they are find a good machine shop with updated equipment and they can use the "xyz" program and give you the angles.

I can have some checked for you by the shop I use, he does them for $15 each in lots of 10 or more, less then that and he wants $20 each. Also a place in the midwest that does it, the guy is always at haydays, precision clutching or something like that, maybe someone here knows, he also reads them and can recut them for you, same $20 "read angles"rate I recall.

The nice thing about having them done is you know the true angles your dealing with, I have found a couple of marked helixs to be off a couple degrees finish and start, so you never know what you got till you actually check it. This way if you need to change something very finely, its easy to do when you have the information, unfortunately its like everything else in this world, you have to pay for it.

No offense taken, I was just trying to help out a fellow member who's post was up for a while. You and alot of others, Turk, Tony, Betheviper to name a few, all supply valued advise on this site. I think you do get paid for it, I've bought clutch parts off of Turk, a couple sets of carbs of Betheviper and various other stuff on here. We buy from the people who gladly give their information and knowledge. I even got a quote off of you for a big bore for my SRX, which I will probably purchase in the spring.
If there is false information given, then someone in the know should set it straight, that way it wouldn't get passed on again buy someone trying to pay back the help he got. Like Tony, I am sorry if I passed on any inaccurate information. Dave
