SRX 700 Clutching Please Help Me
Ok, since I'm new to the whole clutching thing I'm looking for all the help I can get. My 2000 SRX 700 had clutch issues when I bought it, i.e. the bushing on the spider is migrating inboard so the primary won't fully engage. I got a clutch off of E-gay that has some issues too. The clutch from Ebay is off of a 600 viper but one of the arms on the spider is broken off. I'm wondering if there's any possible way to make one good clutch out of two busted ones without having to order a new spider. Also wondering what the clutch gods would recommend for weights and springs with a 136" track with 1.5" paddles for trail and mountain riding. I can't tell what spring is in the primary right now, but I'm thinking it's a stock one. There's one small spot of white paint and that's all I can see. The weights that are in it right now are 8DN-20 and I've also got the weights from the Viper clutch which I think are 8DG-00. Unfortunately, the primary spring from the Viper clutch is also broken. In any case, I appreciate any help anyone can give me on this.

Did you try locktiting a new bushing into your original clutch.

Haven't tried that. Is there a simple/easy way to dismantle the clutch to be able to get the bushing out of it? I somewhat attempted to remove the spider, but that was in vain. I've got basic tools, but no vise or solid bench to bolt it up to and break things loose.
