Michigan Exhaust Law

"Legislators were originally concerned that there wasn’t any wiggle room for older sleds. Well, let me say all stock sleds dating back to 1982 will pass this sound test. All four-strokes measure well below 76-db and all two-strokes measure below 84-db. This is why the 88 level was approved. These older sleds will pass the sound test. If you have a sled that doesn’t meet these levels, then you have a defective exhaust that needs to be fixed."

I have some power inc trail pipes that I would think would pass. You are right on the concrete/hardpack/off trail test. They make a huge difference. I agree that the loud pipes don't have their place anymore on the trails.

On my 600xt, I thought the stock exhaust was loud. When I went to psi pipes on it, I don't think it went louder, it just changed the sound. My understanding was if that it was stock, then even if you go over the limit, you are ok. It's good to see that others believe that too.
