i bought a 1.25 camoplast track ...so i tore the the sled apart to install the track and the lugs are rubbing on the heat exchangers ...so can i trim the .25 to bring it down to 1 inch or should i just find a 1inch track..... its a 1995 vmax 500

I would sell it on E-bay and find the right one. I picked up a brand new Cat track (Camoplast) for my 95 Max from Tracks US for $275.00 a few years ago. Mine has .75 lugs. I would go new cuz a used one may be in need of clips.

drop your drivers 1 tooth.
I have an old 94 vmax with a 1.25 in it.
No problems after installing i think 8 tooth drivers.
Its most likely your drivers need changing anyway, depending on milage.

If I was you i would do like Fish X65 said because you can get the right track on ebay or something brand new for cheap. My 95 vmax 600 has .75 lugs on it with 144 nails and i dont have a problem at all.
