what would you guys say a 1997 vmax 500 with elec. start, rev. with 4000 miles is worth. its that ugluy purple color but real clean. it has a new track and was always dealer serviced. could you guys give m a ballpark
 

Try Kelly Blue Book also. they list all types, years, models of sleds, motorcycles and ATV's. I think they are listed under the recreational vehicles.

I just bought a 98 700 no reverse or electric with 5k for 1400. I offered him 1500 and he said 1400 was good.
 
got a 99 700 Vmax with Bender triples and 5000 miles for $1400 this year. I would say anywhere from $1000-$1200
 
This fall we got our 97 venture 600 of course w electric start, reverse. long track, 2 up seat for $1700 with 5600 miles

I would think 1200-1400 or so would be fair

EDIT.
I looked on KBB, and the trade in value for the 500 ESR is 1145, retail is 1755
the venture we got was retail 2020, and we paid 1700, so 300 under retail.

so take the 300 off of 1755, and that puts you at 1450.

we got ours from a dealer, so that is on the higher side, but your local may be different.

around here 2 ups were hard to find for under 2k. 03+ models were easily found. Otherwise I bet we could have bought it for maybe 1500...

i told the guy i would give him 1000 becuse i thought it want worth anymore, just because its pretty old. he told me his bottom dollar was 1300. i told him id pass on the 1300
 
I got my wife a 2000 sxr 700 last year with 1600 miles (original owner filthy rich!) for $1900!!!! Had 1 small nick in the hood about the size of a dime.....mint! I'd say it is worth 1000-1400 depends on maintance too..... I'd pass too on a 500.
