i just finished making a set last night. ihaven't put them in yet but it was a real B#$&* doing that welding, especially the screw driver head to the screw. i ended up using a flat piece of aluminum with a hole drilled in it as a shroud to cover the fuel screw threads so no weld or slag got into the threads.
Good luck!

Thanks , i never saw that in there before . I think im gonna buy some extra fuel screws first . hate to screw mine up . It doesnt look to hard to build them . Definitly can do it cheaper than the $150 Mt Performance wants for them . Also look like they should be TIG welded . pretty small stuff to work with there . Thanks guys !

I have a little lincoln 180C mig that i used. It worked fine except for the spatter. If you cover the threads with aluminum, you'll be OK. Just make sure that the hole in the aluminum shroud is only big enough for the head of the fuel screw to come through.

I bought Bender fuel screw adjusters last year for my Viper, set me back like 60-$70. Just an idea....even though I hate dealing with Bender, I actually got these within a week.

I had to justify buying the welder to my wife. Everything I build with it just adds to my justification prcoedure!!!

Mountain Performance doesn't even have those anymore. I know they are on their website but they haven't had them for a couple years at least because I considered buying theirs since they looked like the best ones you could get. I called them last year and he acted like they hadn't sold those forever, I also wanted something else off their site at the time and they didn't have that anymore either. I ended up getting mine (Benders new still in the package) off ebay for about $30

Yea Ive read some of those same posts about people hating the bender fsa's. But as long as there lubed and you mount the bracket(mounts under neath the float bowl cover) in the right position they work real smooth.

That $80.00 for the yamaha ones is not bad compared to the $150 MP wanted for theirs. Mind you I am from Canada, I am used to getting pooched.

Watch on ebay as they are show up there every now and then. I landed a set of MPI's brand new in the package earlier this fall. There were a couple of sets of Bender's this fall too.

I just did a quick google search and came up with these. Even though it looks like a tool for the price they might be adapted to be installed permanently on each carb.

I ran across these year before last while I was searching too "AIR KNOBS" Yamaha, not sure why they call them air knobs but whatever...
How Bizarre!! Are you telling me I have to remove the WHOLE airbox AND the carburetors to adjust
the pilot screws for smooth low speed running and to eliminate that silly off idle burble my Yamaha
does????? Ridiculous!! I won’t do it. Surely Northern Lites has come up with a fix!

Yup , you sure do . i just finished building a set from the instructions on the tech pages . I havent installed the yet but I think theyre gonna be the cats a$$ . Its such a pain tearing down the carb setup just to get to that screw . No more for me ! .
