Phazer No Spark???? Where to start and how.

I have an early 90's phazer and it has no spark, anything to test or try before I start buying parts blind?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

id test to see if ur geting power to the coil. unplug it and hook a volt meater it. if no power if check ur key and kill switches. if they are in order if check all ur wireing for a short. then check if u are getting power out of the sator.
