I need an engine for a VK540III that I came across.
I have found several SRV motors, no VK's... surprise surprise.
After consulting with some people, the SRV engine is apparently the same as the VK engine save for the exhaust, the carb MJ and the stator (8* advanced on the SRV).
I have the correct VK stator, exhaust and carb and wonder if they will bolt. My instincts tell me that Yamaha is notorious for keeping things the same, but I am nearly sure that the SRV engine would require higher compression, larger ports, etc. compared to the VK application.
Any advice? Please post up.
