Snow in the UP

Well around Negaunee it is pretty grim. There is some snow cover on the trails yet. But with the temps in the mid 30s now and low 40s earlier this week it has really taken a beating. I haven't had my sled out on the trails for a week. But when we were out it was OK. But looking at the intersections at the roadways it is mud/standing water. The Big Bay report sounds very similar to what we have.

I talked with my son about Houghton conditions. He thought they were melting down as fast as we were. The did however have a lot more snowfall earlier than we did. We got about 1/4" last night so at least there is white cover again.

Trails from Houghton to Twin Lakes are pretty good. I just went to Twin Lakes and back. From what others were telling me some of the trails south of Twin Lakes are still pretty nice. I'm going to wait for more snow before I venture out to far.

rode from Hurley to Silver City on Friday and the trials where fine and got even better at the end of the day poss. 3-4 in. of new snow.....

Wait til next week to go up there, the LES will be pounding them, JohnDee.com is saying 12-24" of snow for this week into next week...

Here in the Muni area, trails are great. Was even able to do some off trail stuff today.

If you need better info, get with Buddah2, he is just in Wetmore and knows this entire area really well.
