im currently in the process of restoring an 1980 yamaha srx 440 and i have come across some parts and i need to double check to make sure these will fit. will the 79 srx bellhousing , flywheel and stator work on the the 1980 srx ??

YOU MEAN THE HOUSEING THE RECOIL BOLTS TWO. IF YOU DO NO IT WON,T WORK. RCOILS WERE DEFERENT. THE FLYWHEEL AND STATOR POSSIBLEY. THAT I AM GONNA DOUBLE CHECK. 3:16 (yammie tony)

so the housing wont work? do u know what the difference between the 2 are?

Yes it will work. You just need to make sure of the spacing for the recoil and wether you have the extra weight flywheel.

IF ITS THE HOUSEING THE RECOIL BOLTS TO . '' IT WON,T WORK '' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE PROBLEM IS THE RECOIL. 79 SRX RECOIL HAD VIBRATION GROMENTS ON IT BECAUSE THEY WOULD BREAK OFTEN, THE 80 SRX RECOIL DID NOT HAVE THESE. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH RECOILS BREAKING ON 80. THIS MADE FOR TOTALLY DEFFERENT SIZE MOUNTING BOLTS THAT MOUNTS THE RECOIL TO THAT HOUSEING. (note trail performance crankshaft balancer for 78/79 srx only ) 3:16 (yammie tony)
