i just changed my hyfax's yeterday and started my machine witht the rear end suspended in the air. I adjsuted the track tension like i usually do (pretty loose lol, the i go in the field to see if it ratchets and if it does i tighten it 2 turns at a time more until it stops) Now i havent had a chance to test my srx on top speed runs this year but the top speed looks to be down a little. now i have my belt deflection adjusted pretty tight, its squealing a little at idle, did this to have a good holeshot. Now when the machine is up in the air, and running at idle, the track spins pretty fast, i read its supposed to only jerk or move very little. I know my belt adj and my track being loose helps me but coud i be loosing top speed accel if the belt deflection is a little too tight? the ribs on the belt are about 1/16 or a little less above the secondary. i have 2 washers in there, if i remove one, the belt is about flush with the secondary and doesent squeal anymore. I havent tried to start the machine in the air with only one washer to se the difference tho.

Aren't you supposed to have better takeoff with it set above? That's my understanding anyway. Right now when I set my belt to above it squeals, but it's because my center to center is off and it's too far apart. So I have to run the belt lower in the secondary to stop the squeal. But I'd rather have the belt sit higher. I finally checked the center to center tonight and it was too far apart which is what I suspected.
