Hello, I need to purchase a track clip installer my friend let me borrow his and it will not completely install the clip and it tears the paddel on the track! can someone please let me what track clip tool you use on your 02 SRX with the stock track?
also when I did this I had to loosen the track up to get the tool on is there another way, I didn't have any of this trouble on my Indy 500 didn't tear the track or have to loosen the track either

I Just replaced the clips on my 02 Viper stock track. I use vicegripes and it was a B#### !! I took the Hifax out of mine and it made it alot easier to get the clips to close. Plus I did a complete inspection and greasing of all the Hifax ! Good luck and Let it Snow !!!

How in the world could you tear out 80 clips???
Just curious.
Track clips are a pain even with the right tool. You will never set them to the track correctly with vise grips. Look in the aftrmarket catalogs for a clip tool that has a notch profile anvil. These are built for clearence of the track lugs that are over the clips. They are about $80 bucks. I though Shade Tree showed one like this. Could check with Dennis Kirk also.
For easier access to the track: Take the back two bolt out of each side of the suspension. The ones by your heels when you sit on it. (14mm socket) You can either tip the sled on its side or hang it by a rope from the back bumper. Either way will let you swing the rear of the suspension out for easier access. Don't loose the two end caps for the axel and make sure they get put back in. Its not too hard to get the suspension back in when done. We normally do this when studding to make it faster and easier.
Good luck![Thumbs Up ;)! ;)!](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/div20.gif)

>>>>> I have no clue! This is the 3rd year I've owned this sled and every year I go through it, last season it only needed 10 or so when I replaced some studs and hyfax's this season 80! I've looked on E-bay and did a search on google for a tool and they all look like my friends that borrowed that tears the paddel and wont completely install the clip

Local dealer (Townline) up here near Flint rented a track clip tool for $10 with a small deposit. Might want to check with your local dealer. Even with the tool it is still a PITA.
