Sell your 600 & buy a 700. A nice 600 sells for the same as a 700 anyway.

You mean the hole sled or just the motor...and are you talking about getting a powervalved...? Thanks for the input turk...
I really wanna keep my sled since I put a ton of money and work with the long travel and long track.....skis, reverse etc etc etc...

If your 600 is in good shape, sell the engine complete with carbs, and buy a 700 with carbs. It will bolt right in, pipes will fit, clutching will have to be set for the 700. 700 uses 33mm carbs 600 uses 31mm. Swapping the whole motor is probably easier than changing all the parts. Usually some used motors in the classified section on TY for reasonable price.

somebody has a 700 motor on there for $450!!! That is cheap even if it needs pistons or rings. They claim it runs....personally I'd wait a year sell it and buy a Viper or similar....for me I am thinking of getting rid of my SRX.....what would I buy next???? I don't know? maybe a 4 stroke???? or a viper

My 600 runs great I just wanna know of there is going to be a big diference betwen the 6 and the 7 non powervalved. And yes I'm thinking of a viper for next year....I think there is gonna be a change right...?

I would think so.......my wife has a pretty much stock 700(head mod and can mod) and it'll go 115 on speedo on hard pack.....with me maybe 110??? So top end is around maybe 105 in reality. I can't compare anything really cause I have never ridden a 600 triple yamaha, I wasn't impressed with the 600 twin we looked at though. Reality wise it you are thinking about a viper next year why spend the $$$ now??? Save for a viper!!! I will most likely keep the srx as I have reverse on it and long travel suspension.,,,just a pita to work on! My god it seems like those pipes need about 1/2 the springs! If I keep it's coming apart and I'm going through everything in summer....paint, cleaning, and polish some stuff!!!!

A red head triple set up per the tech page will run pretty close to a viper - but a bit louder with the can mod. If you have a piped 600 you should be making about 110-115 hp, right?

just did a conversion in a MM600 chassis. I changed the carbs, cdi, jugs and head. Day and night difference. I'd compare it to a stock machine and then adding pipes. That much of a difference. Now my friend wants to go 800 and wants to sell his top end- Imagine that!

Yes I think so and it was quite a diference with the benders I was just wondering If I go bigger (700) and the benders, would I notice a big change..? I mean is it worth maybe 500 bucks to go with the 7 ? maybe for that money I just get mine ported or something....? and the other thing is since 02 - 03 vipers are not that much money...maybe around 2900 for a nice one I could get one by next winter......Just some ideas I have clicking in my head.....
Thanks for the input guys...
