I installed a ZX2 in my SRX this year. I can say, so far I'm not impressed. I'm hoping it is just a matter of dialing things in. I'm hoping to find someone else out ther that has put one in an SRX. I'm only able to find guys that are using it in their 4-strokes. My prior skid (Expert X) felt way better. The ZX2 is WAY stiff. I've set all adjustments just as Jeff at A.D Boiven recommends.

I wonder just how much the front shock settings can have on the rear. I widened the front and long traveled with Viper Ohlins. Per Jeff, I cranked the fronts up pretty hard to get the front end up with no sag. Should I back them back down some?

Also, I'm using a BOSS highrise seat that is pretty stiff. Could the stiffness of the seat be transferring every little jolt? Everyone raves about the BOSS, but it really is quite stiff.

I rode last weekend with a buddy on a stock SRX and he ran right with me. Now, either he has a back of steel or this skid is just not working the way it should.

Searching for help.

same scenerio happened to someone, suspension was way stiff. Turned to out to be a bolt in suspension mounted at wrong area. You should contact A.D. and report your problem. Your suspension should be working like a soft cloud from heaven

this is a quote when he found his problem

Found my problem. I had the front shaft mounted in the factory mounting hole and not the new lower one - Doh. No wonder it didn't work properly with the geometry all screwed up. I knew I had to do this and assumed I did. Don't know what I was thinking.
I put on 225km yesterday. What a difference it made. This thing rocks now. I moved the preload to 2 and tried the various revolver positions. Seems like the default 2 & 4 works best for me.
Thanks for the help.

its in four stroke forum
the thread is called xz2 ride quality

Do you have any pics of your sled sounds like you have one hell of an srx let's see some pics

search my posts. I have photos somewhere. My ZX2 is mounted properly. I'm really not sure how someone could mount it wrong. In order to use the factory holes, you'd need 2 men and a mule to muscle it in.

Is it stiff all the way through the shock stroke? Does the suspension collapse under big bumps? How much sit in do you have? You want it to compress LESS when you sit on it, the less the better.

I am mixed on the Zx2 as well in my RX it does not soak up the little bumps near what my edge did, but it handles the big ones SO much better. I can jump this thing all day and not worry, it also transfer great and rides the medium bumps good. Once i get the 150 miles on I will start playing with the settings.

How many miles do you have on it and have you checked all the bolts for proper TQ?

I've got about 200 miles on it. It is real stiff. To be honest, I don't notice it doing much in any condition. Kind of feels like stock only I sit higher. I'm going to start playing with the front end and maybe switch back to the stock (softer) seat now that we have snow again.

I had an Expert X in my viper last year and compared to my friends 06 Nytro, the Expert was a way better ride. This year with the ZX2 in my SRX, his Nytro is way better. I'm kind of regretting getting rid of the Expert X.
