Im trying to change the gearing in my srx, will 21/40 gearing fit? On the ty tech forum charts, the 21 is listed but not the 40,why? trying to use the stock 70 link chain, will this combo work, by the way this is for a 660 drag setup with the 8bu weights, green secondary and 51/43 helix, forget the primary spring color, anyway will this be a good combo? thanks for any input

21/40 gearing is a 1.904 ratio and by my calculations requires a 70 link chain. But you will have to check and see you might be able to modify your tensioner and make a 68 link chain work. You could go with 20/38 gearing and have a 1.9 ratio using a 68 link chain.
I changed my gearing in my Triple piped SxR700 to 20/37 68 link chain(1.85 ratio) and noticed a difference in fuel economy and my sled lopes(runs freely) up to about 20-25 mph. Currently thinking about going to a39 lower and either 20(1.95) or 21(1.857) set up with a 68 link chain for a little more zip on the short runs in the tight and twisties. T

Havent had the chance to see what length chain i have but based on the chart in the ty tech section i should have a 70 link chain, Am i wrong? im just concerned about whether a 40tooth gear will fit the case clearance wise, anyone?
