I recently bought a 98’ srx 600, I was told that it was rebuilt and was turned into a 700 it also has aftermarket pipes on it. When I got it the plugs that were in it were BR8ES and the service manual said that it should have BR10ecs plugs in it. I went out and bought the BR10ECS plugs and installed them, I ran it a little bit and checked the plugs they look like they are burning a little too hot. I wanted to run it a little longer and check them again but since I live in Indiana and there isn’t any snow I haven’t had a chance to. We are leaving for Michigan next week and I want to make sure everything is in good shape. Do you think I should stick with the BR8ES plugs that were in it when I got it or use the BR10ECS plugs that are recommended?

i would not run the br8es plugs in it . the br10ecs plugs are what the 98 called for but they foul really easy. most people run br9ecs in stock or mod srx 700's.the higher the plug number the colder they run [for ngk anyway].
Thanks for the info. What do you think there reason was for running the BR8ES? Do you say not to use them because they are to hot?

yeah, stick with the br9ecs plugs and premium fuel
It's not that they're to hot it is a different plug design, the es electode will be to close to the piston and cause a hot spot and burn the motor down.rickshupe said:Thanks for the info. What do you think there reason was for running the BR8ES? Do you say not to use them because they are to hot?
