I have a used cly i want to use BUT there is a chip near the top of the cyl and i am wanting to get opinions. Currently i went to 2 yammie dealers and they said it should be fine as the rings won't hit it BUT i would like some more opinions to make sure what i decide will be fine. So pls offer any thoughts on this....

the problem would be detention the rings would not hit the spot but it could possibly keep chiping due to developing a hot spot on the edges of the chip
so i guess i should call the scrap yard i got it from and see if they have another one... the only thing that sucks it it will require me to drive one way of 250 km.. oh well i sure don't want to get it back together and have it explode again....

don't use a ball hone.
nic is very hard so a hone won't do much but you can atleast cut some
of the glaze..
