Hey guys I was just wondering how many plates on the stock chain of the 01 SRX? Is it a 11, 13 or 15? I am looking to gearing down one tooth on top and need to know so I can order my gear.

It's 13 link. The 98's`and 99's were 15 link

thats hyvo chain, not just 13 plate std chain. The hyvo chain is used in the srx's and vipers from 2000-03 its a differnt chain then the old 13 wide std. in the sx,sxr's.
so if I order a 13 wide sprocket it should fit on the stock chain?
as long as its "hyvo"
I don't know the sled is bone stock everything. but I guess I will have to pull the chain case appart to find out. Why is there a different chain in in the 2001 srx? was there a choice of chain?

DEPENDS ON GEARS AND RATIO. STOCK ON 01 SRX WAS 23-38. THAT WOULD USE THE 70 LINK. PRETTY MUCH WHEN YA START DROPING TOP GEAR, YOU NEED THE 68 LINK. REMEMBER THIS MACHINE USES HYVO GEARS AND CHAIN. ! 3:16 (yammie tony)
Why did the 98-99's have a 15 wide? Were they HYVO? Just wondering why the change in chain from the 98-99 to 00-02. Also, what is HYVO or what does it stand for? Thanks.
did the 2001 come stock with the HYVO chain?

im running 22-38 and it runs good tops out around 105-110mph... but pulls hard getting there, no complaints here

KEEP IN MIND BY 2000 YAMAHA WAS STARTING TO TRY AND LITE,EN THE SRX UP. 13 WIDE GEARS, LIGHTER BRAKE ROTAR ( 01 srx ) LIGHTER FLY WHEEL. etc. 3:16 (yammie tony)

ONLY THING THE 00 HAD WAS THE 98-99 BRAKE ROTOR, OTHER WISE SAME AS 01. 3:16 (yammie tony)
