i will be leaving saturday for houghton lake who else will be up there. i will be parked at the the small state park by whiteheads.

Does anyone know if the lake is frozen ? It will be a waste of time if you can't run the ice.
there is 10 inches of ice with 6 inches of snow on top and the trails are good to ride. this was on the tut website. it says it is only thin by the shore.

We had a warm spell around here and lost ALL of our snow and got major rain. Luckily it got real cold and we got some snow back already.

The ice is fine, have been riding it for a month. I do know all the snow melted off of it with the warm up but then they received a bunch more snow and I heard it is awesome right now. I am heading up tonight and trail riding all day tomorrow, then I will be on the lake on saturday looking to mess around a bit with the sleeper...............
it doesnt make sense but this lake is different than other lakes it is shallow and freezes very well and make good ice. the reason it is thin by shore is because the melting snow and rain .and the ground is warmer where it is shallow. one you are one the ice you will be good.

Intellicast.com is showing High 19F Friday, Highs in the low teens and lows in the mid single digits for Saturday and Highs in the upper single digits and lows in the mid single digits for Sunday. Normally they're very close with their temp predictions. Either way it's gonna be cold.
