I've been fighting with a coolant leak on my brothers viper for awhile now. It leaks from the weep hole on the water pump and I've replaced the mechanical seal, rubber seal, and the washer seal on the impeller bolt multiple times now with no luck. The impeller shaft bearings seem to be fine, but I'm at the point of just replacing everything (bearings, shaft, impeller, etc.) because I don't know what else to do at this point. There is a very slight amount of play between the shaft and impeller and I'm thinking this may be the culprit, but it seems like a long shot so I thought I'd run it by you guys before I tear the motor down. Any other suggestions?

How Long Are You Running Before You Dig In Again I Had To Heat Cycle And Run My Sled Several Times Before The Leak Would Stop It Needs To Spin And Wear In!

Put 350 miles on the last set, it actually seemed to seal up ok for about 50 miles then started to leak. I even used the pro Honda coolant that is supposed to be good for mechanical seals.

Is the leak actually from the weep hole or is it just wet under the engine? All the replacements done with engine in sled? have you did a pressure test of the coolant system?

Just Another Dumb ? Is It For Sure The Weep Hole Any Chance The Water Pump Cover O Ring Is Pinched Or Cut Its A Big Oring And I Know Its A Tough Spot To Work In!

Yep, it is for sure coming from the weep hole. All replacements done with the engine out of the sled. Sealing surface for the mechanical seal is not damaged. Yes, I have had a pressure tester on it and it seems to hold pressure fine without the sled running. Once it is running and heated up is when it begins to leak, shut the sled off and the leak stops.
