My belt gets glazed and my clutch wont engage until about 5200 rpm. can anyone tell me what causes this? I clean my belt off with some fine sandpaper and its fine again for a little while. Is there something wrong with my clutches? The belt is a ultimax 3

Hmm have you cleaned the clutch surfaces with anything?
I'd suggest cleaning your Primary and Secondary Sheaves with a Scratch pad, and clean it with a Brake cleaner.
Also Might want to check the temps of your clutch when your running it.
Is it a new or old belt?

Need a little more info, like miles on this sled=(due for service), hows the skid-been serviced(seized brgs will ad drag to the drive line) , chain-serviced (too thick oil or too tight), track tension(too tight), belt life (new or used), is there a lot of clutch dust on the primary or belt dust around the secondary, what is the full travel of the belt, confirmed C.C. & offset are within specs & how about belt defection with that belt...need a little more info...cheers

I did tighten my track a little, Maybe i will slack it up a bit. i cleaned my clutches with a rag and some soapy water. there is almost 10000km on the sled.
Now In That 1000000000000000000 Or So Miles Have The Clutches Ever Been Serviced?????????

I dont know I bought the sled last year.
Best advise I can give you is. Go out & get a service/shop manual for that sled, read it...it takes a couple shop tools & clutch specific tools to get it all serviced & running right, the first time is intimidating & costly...about the same cost as having the dealer do it, but if you are somewhat mechanically inlined, then investing in the tools will pay off greatly...I shared the cost with another yam specific sledder from work and now we are servicing our own clutches...cheers
