I just changed my plugs and took my sled out for a ride. When I was on it alone at first everything was great....took off well and had great acceleration. Than my gf came and we rode 2 up for 20 miles. She got off and there was a dead spot around the 6000 rpm range. It took off well but fell flat on its face for a lil while. This is the second time this has happened. The first time is the reason I put new plugs in. I pulled the plugs and they weren't terrible but there was some oil on them. Any ideas as to what the problem is? The sled is a 96 vmax 600

check your primary and all the skid bearings. if you have not touched the primary or if it has never been done to your knowlege it might be time for some new bushings in there at the least.

check your secondary helix slide bushings for wear and proper deflection of your drive belt...driving around 2up may have loaded the engine up with oil and started fouling your plugs....are your plugs cardboard brown or black?? do some searches on here for jetting and needle settings for your carbs i have owned a couple of twins and they were really jetted rich from the factory....CP

the plugs are cardboard brown. Thanks for all the tips guys. This is my first sled so I'm going to have my buddy that knows about sleds look at it.
