what are the effects of inceasing or decreasing Wrap on secondary

Backshift is part of it. if you don't have enough wrap you're sled will not backshift. I suppose if you have too much it won't shift out though .... anybody else?

If you have it wrapped tighter it will upshift later basically the primary needs to make enough force to overcome the secondary spring and helix to open the secondary clutch so that the clutch can upshift in the primary. Less wrap = less force needed for the belt to go down in the secondary and upshift in the primary. Wrapping it tighter makes it act like it has a shallower helix. This is how I understand it anyways, but it may not be totally correct.

SECONDARY FUNCTION IS EXTREMELY INPORTANT TO YOUR SLEDS TRANSMISSION. IT CONTROLS ALOT. LIKE BACK SHIFT, ENGINE RPM, BELT LIFE, HELIX RATIO,s. SECONDARY WORKS HAND AND HAND WITH THE PRIMARY, PROBLEM THAT YA FIND IS THEIR ONLY A SMALL QUICK FIX WHEN YOUR TURNING TO MANY RPM LIKE YOU. PROBLEM WHEN YOUR THAT HIGH IS IN THE PRIMARY CLUTCH WEIGHTS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Are there any bushings in the primary that need to be serviced on a 1998 primary clutch with 9000km on it?
Specifically: Would it cause over-RPM due to worn out bushings?

Thanks!

a looser secondary will result in higher top speed as long as you are still pulling the right rpms and running the clutches efficiently. I think you have the basic understanding of the secondary spring. More wrap (tighter) OR higher rate (stiffer) spring will raise rpms, slow upshift, increase backshift rate, etc etc. A softer spring or less wrap will have the opposite effects. I really recommend buying the Aaen Clutch Tuning Handbook from Royal Distributing (since you're in ontario) I just picked one up from them C.O.D and it is packed with information. It's only $25 which is cheap considering the knowledge you get from it and the time you save asking questions on internet forums/ money from trying out different setups.

Yes if the rollers are bad it will overrev.
