Anyone have some great ideas as to why my warmers quit
other than the CDI.
Everything else works great. What else does the CDI control.
Is it common for only part of the CDI go bad.
Port Yamaha list 2 different CDI's ??????

I would check wiring...see if there is voltage at the warmers....check continuity of thw warmers and you may find a bad one.

the warmers check out fine.
I was wondering because the hand and thumb warmers are hooked up
through seperate reostats. I find it weird they would both quit at the same time

only thing common to both the grip warmers and thumb warmer is the (white with black) wire from CDI to each control AND the chassis ground (black) wire for hand and thumb warmers...
first see where and how the thumb and grips are grounded..
"yes", a portion of the CDI can fail and another portion can continue to function..
"no" there is no fuse for that cct..
