Every year I make a post like this one. Every year Totallyamaha grows exponentially, and in comes a bunch of folks who don't understand what this site is about.

There's a short indoctrination process in here, a period in which newbies aren't quite comfortable. This is because this website is totally DIFFERENT than any other website.

TY is about people getting together to solve problems, helping eachother as best they can. If you're good with carbs, but need clutching suggestions, you'll meet 10 people who are good with clutches and need carb help.

If you think you know it all and are God's gift to sledding, you won't find many friends here. No one want's to hear your opinion if it's the ONLY OPINION THAT MATTERS AND IS THE BE-ALL END-ALL OF REALITY.

People try different things for the same problem on TY, take the knowledge we gather and spread it around when asked for it.

Tyers do not, under any circumstances degrade another person, call them names, or act like an asshole at any time.

TYers respect other people's opinions while disagreeing with them.
TYers also get together and ride now and then, and have a sober blast while doing it.

If you find yourself a newbie, and disagree with any of this, TY isn't your home. If like other folks, you have a lot to learn about Yamaha's, and want to tune the crap out of your sled/bike/ATV/PWC, then this is the place to learn the ins and outs.

To summarize, for those with no attention span to speak of, PLAY NICE OR GO HOME.

Yes I agree John. But alot more people are on the TY.net forums and its Kinda hard to be checking all 4 TY boards, garage sale, ty.net, message boards, why dont we just stick with ty.net and rx1info.com :?:

I think it's so we don't rely on a single server that can get bogged down. A side effect it that the same questions aren't asked ad nausiem, we tend to get general questions on .net and .com, if you added all the constant questions about RX1's on top of those, it'd be crazy!

The arrangement is pretty good, considering it all started with a crappy (may it rest in peace) board that poor MrSled had to band aid every week. Now, our posts are available for a long time, and the search function keeps posts about the little things down.

I hit all but the for sale board, because if I start thinking I need a newer sled this year, my wife'll kill me! lol

This is a great site. I have been reading every post on all the TY boards and forums all summer, as I just purchaced a Viper ER in july. After reading all the posts I decided to join as I knew i would not be outcast as a newbie (unlike other sites). I certainly do not know everything about sleds, so TY has really helped me in my knowlage of them. I thank all members for their pleasent help and suggestions. And i also hope i can offer some of my input in the near future. Thanks again from a newbie.
