Does anyone know how thick Hauck thin head gaskets are? Are they thinner or thicker than using 2 of the stock gasket layers? I have some sitting here but I don't have any calipers (they're broken) to measure them with. I just did this mod again with two layers of the stock gaskets and they leaked.......AGAIN. I don't know why but I'm sick of them leaking so I was thinking about just using these Hauck ones but I was wondering about the thickness.
Stock each of the layers are .010

Cool. I'm putting the Hauck ones on then. I wish I knew why these stock ones won't seal. You can't get the surfaces any cleaner than I did this last time. I also spent several hours getting that coating off of the stock gaskets and spent about an hour or more spraying a thin layer of Permatex Copper gasket spray on each side of those and letting them dry some then recoating them. Maybe I'm just putting too thick of a layer on them. Or not retorquing them soon enough. I think this copper spray starts to melt off, they start leaking then you're screwed.
