I put on about 60 miles today and alot of that was deep powder riding along a river when i got off the river the belt was squeeking at idle so we hit the groomed trail i figured it was just snow that got into the clutches and a good high speed run would fix the problem but at the next stop same thing belt was squeeling like a stuck pig anyone know a fix for this anoying problem please and thank you.

first take your belt off then put on park brake remove secondary clutch 14mm bolt then look at backside you will see 3 8mm bolts look to see if they have washers underneath them if they do remove them and reinstall bolts....belt should now sit flush to a little below the top of the shieve....

A guess here, if it was running good up till ya hit the deep stuff, I would look at two things...
1) is there indications of belt slipping on the primary & secondary once a track loads up with snow it changes the how the clutches react to some degree belt slips & glazes...
2) motor mounts, inspect after loading the engine in all that deep snow & confirm C.C/offset...as well as the width of the belt to a new one...

Keep us posted...cheers

i did have the secondary off friday night and had the windage plate of in the front and also the one on the back side but there was no washers ,does the back plate have anything to to with how the belt rides in the secondary? please explain thanks.
