Was there ever a such thing as a clutching chart for the 76 -81 SRX's. For the yamaha clutches giving weights for the arms. Or does anyone know the weights of the arms that were available.
Thanx

TELL YA YOUR BEST GUIDE FOR THIS IS AFEW THINGS. THE 77 SRX GRASS/ICE MANUAL OR AAEN CLUTCH TUNEING HANDBOOK. 3:16 (yammie tony)
The 77 srx manual is for the 77 that turns 9750 rpms right. I need weights for 8800-9000 any idea what weights will do this?

DUDE, YOU SAID YOU LIKE TO SEE A CHART. THAT RACE MANUAL HAS THAT. 8M6 81 SRX WEIGHTS WORKED THE BEST FOR RACING THE YAMAHA YP. I HAVE TO TELL YA THOUGH YOUR GONNA BE HARD PRESSED TO BE A COMET. WHATS YOUR POINT ON CHANGEING. 3:16 (yammie tony)
My comet is all f#$@ up. The face wont close all the way because the cover hits the spider and keeps it from closing all the way and I dont think removing the shim will close the face enough to give mi the right clearance between the belt and sheave...
I have that book and the only chart that it has is weights by part numbers and it said std arm or high engagement not weights or rivit information. Are the 77 SRX weights made to spin 9750 rpms or 9000 for the 79 SRX. Maybe I'm missing some thing here. I guess What I,m saying is the power bands are different between the 77 and 79.
Thanx

I SEE YOUR POINT, BUT YOU WANT A AGRESIVE WEIGHT FOR DRAG RACING. THE WEIGHT YOU NEED IS THE 8M6 81 SRX WEIGHT. THATS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE TOLD YA THAT AND IT WENT RIGHT BUY YA. NOW YOU CAN TAKE THE 8G9 WEIGHT AND CUT A NOTCH IN THEM FOR ENGAGEMENT AND ADD WEIGHT TO THEM. YP TUFF TO TUNE BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT ALOT OF OPTIONS. EVEN GUYS WITH 77 SRX,s USED THE 8M6 WEIGHT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
Theres two weights for the 81 8M6-17632-70-00 or 8M6-17633-00-00 and what spring should I use. I think your right about the comet clutch being a better clutch to run but until I get my comet figured out I'm going to see what tis yamaha clutch can do.
Youve been alot of help
Thx

THE SPRING YA NEED IS A 433 GPX GYT SPRING. I BELIEVE IT WAS SILVER AND RED. VERY HARD TO FIND THOUGH. THATS WHY I LIKE TO SEE YA GET THAT AAEN CLUTCH TUNEING BOOK BECAUSE HE LISTS ALL THE GYT RACE SPRINGS. THE 8M6 WEIGHTS YA NEED IS SECOND NUMBER YOU LISTED. I THINK YOU CAN GET A YAMAHA CLUTCH TO WORK JUST AS GOOD AS A COMET, BUT COMETS HAVE A TON MORE TUNEING OPTIONS, PROBLEM WITH YAMAHA CLUTCH IS THEY ARE VERY HIGH MAINTENCE. 3:16 (yammie tony)
