Has anyone tried to run with those nylon stud backers? I just finished installing 96 down the middle and found that they are cracking without tightening very much. I just snugging them up and found that 10 of them cracked right away, I should have got the aluminum ones like I had on my last machine, no issues with that!
:o|

i had good luck with them and i know there is a torque spec and two different sizes...7mm and 5/16std....i could see maybe that they would crack if your stud was the bigger size to the smaller backer :dunno: .....CP

The studs and backers came as a kit and are 5/16". I only brought them snug and was extra cautious not to over-torque, I'll see how they hold up this weekend. If I start cracking them I'm going to swap them out for aluminum washers and be done with it. These nylon ones have terrible flow lines, they look like off-shore, probably China!

they only break when you are installing them - i put 1200 miles on mine and i dont think any have broken. I think i broke 7 or 8 installing them too tight.

That makes me feel better. I'll give them a shot this weekend and see how they hold up.

I have seen too many nylon backers crack on other peoples sleds. I personally only run Aluminum ones, or steel if $$ is a factor.

I used them once and had 6 of them crack over time, it is possible that I over tightened them slightly on install but either way I went back to aluminum.

there was a problem in making them i had that problem this year and called company and they replaced them and they came different so call where you bought them and they will replace them
