i have a 99 mountain max that i extended to a 141 from a 136 and i was wondering if i should gear it down at all from stock?

Stock mountain viper runs 20/40, I am running 20/38 on my ext. viper 136. That isn't a huge increase so I think you would be alright running stock.

2002 Mountain Max 600 still runs the 19/38 so I would think you should be fine
unless you are looking for a little more?
I think mountain Vipers are 21/40 with 8 tooth drivers @ 2.11
2002 Viper 22/38 with 9 tooth drivers @ 1.73
2002 Viper 20/38 with 9 tooth drivers @ 1.90
20/38 with 8 tooth drivers @ 2.14
mountain max 19/39 with 9 tooth drivers @ 2.05
mountain max 19/39 with 8 tooth drivers @ 2.25

2002 Mountain Max 600 still runs the 19/38 so I would think you should be fine
38 divided by 19 = 2.06 that a little better than 2to1 ratio
I think you have 8 tooth (or 9 tooth drivers??)
2.06 x @1.1 = 2.27 final gear, most piped vipers in the mountains are running @ 2.25

In SD you will not need the lower gearing that the higher altitudes would require, but unless your into long drag races I would gear down a little and smoke your friends out of the hole.
