Well there hasn't been enough good conditions this season to run the SRX.Finally got out on the river first time last weekend to do some runs .I have been using 14.5 rollers in my clutch to help clamp the belt better. My last setup had 4.2g in heel,3.3g in 1st hole and 3.3 g in tip. With 50/38 helix wrapped at 70 the clutches are nice and cool to the touch, which is great to see.Still got a little lean bog to correct.Got 45 pilots now opened max with fuel screw adjusters to 2 3/8 turns out.Idle comes down almost to normal now, still a slight bog when I pin it.Ordered 47.5 pilots and that should cure all. Also ordered 15mm rollers to try in clutch.Anyways with the setup I mentioned above, from a standstill motor revs right up to about 8400-8500 and maybe climbs to 8600 wot.Engine is sounding great, but only could get 100mph on a long pull.I blew an exhaust gasket,so maybe that is stopping me some in top end, don't know.Ordered new gasket for that blown one.
Now when I install the 15mm rollers,I am going to try 5g heel and 7 g tip.Still with 50/38 helix at 70,or could try 60 wrap to.Thinks I would end up with a better top end speed.Got to see what my engagement will be with this also.I know you can load up the tip more with a 50/38,but I will see where I stand when I test it with the new combo.

How loose do you have your limiter strap your suspension set up can make a 10mph difference on top end.If you want top end back put the stock 15.6 rollers back in they work best with the heel clickers on the srx's on long runs.

limiters are not tight at all. Will check tommorrow, but I think I have about 5/16" thread remaining ahead of the top nut.Are you suggesting I tighten the straps more, which will place more weight on ski's and keep sled more level on take off.I have the transfer rods at full transfer also. When I pin it,ski's lift up some 6-8 inches aprox..if I get good traction.

Yes the limiter straps will gain at least 5 mph on top.The 14.5 rollers are your problem though.

Is that a YES to tighten the straps more. How much would you pull them up then?I know that for all out drag racing you tighten them up all the way.Hard on the w-arm only.I should at least start at stock settings then and go from there.

Know just tighten it sum to get the tight approach angle out some.
You need to stop asking so many questions and listen once in a while, lol

realize that if no one asked any questions on here, wouldn't need the site.Asking questions is the only way one can learn about things..lol.Thanks for your response and keep up the good work.

I'm just giving u crap,lol

Put the rollers in first and you will have to add some weight to the tip.

hmmmmmmm!!!!!!

waiting for my Yamaha Dealer to phone me today with my parts I ordered. Can't do anything right now anyways.I take Fridays off for 3 day weekends and get a little bored when there is nothing to do.This has been a bad winter so far.Snowmobiles,tractors,trucks,1 groomer lost already have gone thru the ice on the rivers and lakes. They say that the ice never froze good enough this year.Should be around 4 feet deep,is ending up being around a foot or less and people are playing with their lives. One guy went thru with a back-hoe.Police divers went down some 13 meters to retrieve the body, but could not find it.Current sweep it away.I imagine lot of places are like that this season.Never seen such a lack of snow in my area for this time of year.It is sick, but saving a lot of $$$$ on gas anyways.LOL

I sure do have the stock rollers, actually have 2 sets of them here. When using them, there are to close for comfort for the washers in the heel.I have grinded the washers slightly in order for them not to touch the rollers at shift out.Smaller rollers I was told will clamp the belt harder.HC instruction manual does say it is better to use 14.5 or 15mm rollers.Thought I would pick the middle size and try it.

Yeah, here you on the lack of snow Never been so little snow out here.
Going dicth banging tonight tho.

well there is a big weather statement issued for Monday.Big Low Front coming in Monday with 5-10 cm of snow and blizzard conditions on Tuesday.Since my parts didn't come in for the SRX,will be riding my ditchbanging 600 I guess. We should hookup for a ride one weekend there
stein700sx.

I put the 15.6 mm roller back in pro116 with 5 grams heel and 7 grams tip.50/38 helix at 70.Much better on take off, seems to hook up better and pulls like a raped ape..got to hang on man!!!!!!Did some wot runs and could only muster up 105 mph with my tach reading 8400 and no more.My engagement is a little high at 4400-4500,so I probably could load up heel some more and take a little off the tip to maintain wot rpm.Should I try 6 grams heel and the tip I don't know what would be better yet. When I pin it my rpm's jump to 8500 plus, drops down a bit and climbs to 8400 and that is it man.

what if you try a 48/36 helix w/leaving all else the same? I would think then that you could add a little more tip weight to bring the max rpms down. the 36 finish angle will add a few more rpm's on top, thats why I suggested a little more tip weight. then w/more tip weight, you should be able to compress that spring a little more and then get to a full shift?

I don't want to spend any more $$$ on trying to get the sled to go5 mph faster. As long as it pulls good out of the hole and tears my arms off all the way to the top,I'm content.I just will have to fine tune my clutching now.Got it close.
Went out and did some more long runs on the river today and it was warmer then yesturday was.Not a once did my DCS light ever flash at WOT or when I pinned it from a dead stop.I have the 47.5 pilots installed now, idle is perfect, pinning from a standstill is instant now and scares the crap out of me how this sled wants to rocket,it is wicked the pull it has.You have got to hang on to them handlebars. My only concern is the top end and rpm's.At a good 3/4 ..maybe mile run gets to 100mph quick and climbed up to 104 on the speedo, but the climb was slow.Noticed my rpm at this point was only around 8150-8200 and no more.So I still could be pulling to 8500 and gain more speed.I have 7 grams in tip now, guess I should drop down to 6 grams and see what happens. In the heel I have 5 grams and engages approx 4300-4500.On the stand it engages starting at 4100,but with the track down on snow and me on the sled,it starts to engage higher.I could add a tad to the heel I suppose, maybe put in an extra .5gram in the heel which would be 1.5g total and drop that engagement down to get less spin put of the hole.Does this seem good to you guys. When I get my 15mm rollers from Yamaha, will install them, which should drop my engagement and tune from their.I am keeping notes on the changes I am making so I can compare results.I would like to go from 70 to 60 wrap, but probably the belt will slip to much .

yeah,I should of tried 80 wrap today just for the hell of it,maybe would pu some top rpm to get me close.Next weekend I shall try it first before I change the weight of the HC's.

By the way.On my ride today I stopped to have a smoke and this sled comes down the trail and it is blue.It was the new Nytro.Frigginguy didn't even stop, wave or look at me.Thought I could of tried out the sled.Us Yamaha guys got to stick together. If I see another Yamaha sled stopped,I will pull oer and say hi.Maybe he was intimidated by the SRX...don't know.PISSES me off a little. At least got to hear that 4-stroke running.
