Today I finally shut up one of my Polaris buddies. He's got a highly modded XC600, with all the bells and whistles (pipes, case and jug porting, shaved head). He's worked on tuning for several years and made it into just short of just a drag sled. We pulled up onto the Portage lake side by side, and let her rip. He had gotten me off the line and up to around 500' then I blew his doors off. He swore up and down that I had done something more to my motor on my rebuild. Finally got those 8AB's tuned and when I have traction I book. Sorry for the long story, but it's just the cat's meow that I shut him up for once. He claims he wasn't running right, but oh well. I was. He wants to race again, and I told him no, he's had his chance. He talked a big talk of this one race, and blew it.

Of course his sled wasn't running good... because he lost. Theres always an excuse.

I'll be one of the first people to admit that his sled is fast, I've seen it beat a few F7's in its day, but all that tinkering and all the extra goodies are working against him now. Mines by no means a hot rod, but that fine tuning is really making it come alive. I may of been able to get him off the line, but I've got a little bit of a bog I've got to clean out.
