A buddy of mine is having problems with an electric shield. I have never used one so don't know much about them. He wan'ts to know if they should feel warm to the touch. His shield does not work. He has checked the sled plug in and say's he has juice at the plug in. On his helmet the plug in is a flat three prong type, is there a certian amount of ohms that he should be getting and which prongs does he check this too. Thanks alot for any help.

I don't think you can feel the heat. Atleast I never have on mine. If there is no resistance I think you can assume it junk. But I don't know how much resistance is good. What kind of helmet is it? I have and HJC and I could probably measure the resistance. Or you could look up how many watts it is and do the math for resistance.

Id think that as long as you are getting anything when you ohm it out, that should be fine.
The wire from the sled to the helmet could have a bad connection and the problem might even be where the wire connected to the faceshield itself.
