Currently I'm having a problem with my sled bogging off the line. I blip the throttle and it's ok when I pin it after that. I'm running a y-w-y primary w/ 8ab's with 2.7g in tip. Red secondary spring wrapped at 80 with 43-37 helix. What should I look for to make it more crisp right from the start? Play with my fuel mixture screw, or maybe up my pilots, or needles? Everything is stock for the carbs except the fuel screws are turned 7/8 out from stock and the mains have been changed for my pipes. I'm just trying to clean out that burble. Just looking for direction. I'm pretty much dead nuts on with my clutching and RPM's (maybe 50 under target). Plugs are a perfect chocolate color, and I don't want to be put into the danger zone, but I'm thinking I may be on the richer side of things. Thanks, Drew.

What's your engagement? Is the deflection set right? I don't know if it pertains to your setup or not but I've read that you need to turn the fuel screws out farther than normal if you have more aggressive clutching.

I put and Ultimax XS belt in this year and the deflection was dead on. My engagement is around 4800. Maybe a bit much, but I can take my engagement shims out. Olav Aaen told me to keep my engagement around that for these weights and his pipes. I'm a big boy at 240lbs and this probably doesn't help my problem. I may have to turn my fuel screws out, but don't I have to go up to the next pilot size if I turn the fuel screw out so far?

You can go out 3 turns without them falling out. But yeah if they need to go out farther than that you need bigger pilots.
