My old 98 SRX ran like a champ this weekend except for the last five miles. Lost all power, just like you hit the killswitch. Now I have zero spark or lights. Cant find any visible rubs in the wiring harness. Can a guy bypass the key switch and the killswitch? That where I was going to start. There was no warning, no stumble or lights dimming, went from running great to dead.
Not sure about the srx but my sx did that to me and it turned out to be the CDI

you can bypass the switch on 2000 and older srx i did it on my 98 srx600 but my 2001 srx700 i was not able to. seems like a good place to start. ![Letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/letitsnow.gif)

Bet your stator is bad.
yes you can simply unplug the ign. switch on the old single headlight model, but I would look at the stator as someone suggested. check and see if it has any power coming from the wires when you pull it over?

What is the process for checking the stator?
