Can anyone tell me by looking at hese pics if this is a Polaris m10? How can you tell a Polaris M10 from a Fast M10?
It is for sale locally for $600. It was supposedly in a 2002 SRX, but I want to be sure. If I buy it, it will go under my 02 Viper. Any help is appreciated.

All M10's are from fast the only difference i know of from them being in the pols is that they had the 3 wheel rear axle and that can be changed to the 4 in the rear. all you would have to do it buy a mount kit from fast for your sled. and it was in a SRX so it will have the mount kit for the viper

From what I remember, TSU is correct, an M10 is an M10, regarless if it was iin a polaris or an item from FAST.
the 3 or 4 wheel idlers may be the only difference, and that really does not matter.

There was an article in snow tech not to long ago on this very subject. The shock valving and spring pakage are different between the 2. There was other differences they mentioned but I can't recall them. Basically Polaris cheapened them up some for bottom line. Give fast a call they are great people and will help answer your ?.

Polaris / Fast M10
I thought so too, but see attached picture of a shattered Polaris M10, and the link where I found it.

I found while searching about M10's so I could tell if this was a original Fast M10 or a Polaris take-off. Notice that the front swing arm is round tube instead of square. Every original FAST M10 I have seen has square tubing swing arms.....

That does not look to be a Polaris version M-10.

mdbauer,
Yes that is a polaris M-10. I have one that looks just like that with the round tube front swing arm. Gosh, I hope mine doesn't brake like that. The difference I see is that the front swing arm tube is longer, cause I just had to cut mine down to make it fit and the rubber bumpers are also flat on top not angled the the fast m-10, and it does have 3 wheels in the back. Otherwise I think they are the same. Yours may of came out of a polaris but its still a fast m-10. Sounds like a good deal to me. I paid 500 for mine and then had to buy the mounting kit and do all the rest of the bull $@!# to get it to work.

Oh, sorry, yes your skid is a fast M-10, what I meant was the one with the broken arm is the polaris m-10. Sorry for the confusion.

What he said. I also seem to remember something about some of the suspension bushings being different? Possibly a lower quality to make it cheaper?
