comet set up, purple comet spring #207758, with 2 spring shims, "N" cam arms part number 203911, run only 1 spider shim washer with this set up.

ORGINAL COMET UPDATE FOE THE 81 SRX WAS YELLOW SPRING (203475A) AND THE '' B '' ARMS. THE PURPLE SPRING REPLACED THE YELLOW. ALL 1981 SRX WERE DEALER UPDATED WITH COMETS WITH THE YELLOW SPRING AND '' B '' WEIGHTS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I haven't looked in the clutch yet to see what set up it has. But it seems engage at to low of an rpm. I think it is around 3500. It is a stock clutch set up from Yamaha as far as I know. The clutch along with the bottom end was replaced under Yamaha waranty.

I'm running purple 207758 with b weights 1 spring shim engagement is at 5000
but I still have 2 spider shims ?? maybe the reason I'm not turning over 83-8400 rpm ? Tony ? Mrviper ? what do you think
I did try the 40 gram E weights and was able to turn over 9000 but they are not a very aggressive profile

NYSRX, ENGAGEMENT SHOULD BE ATLEAST 4500. I WOULD UPDATE SPRING. THE 81 SRX WITH A 3500 ENGAGEMENT IS LIKE WATCHING GRASS GROW.
KEVIN, LIKE I TOLD YA LAST NIGHT ON THE PHONE. I WOULD JUST KKEP RINNING A LIGHT WEIGHT TO SEE IF YOUR RPM WILL INCREASE. YOU ARE GETTING CLOSER. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Yes I better get busy with the sander on one of my other weight sets maybe a B with a notch and get them down to 40 grams just about out of snow , also my secondary seens to twist a lot easier than it used to maybe I messed up when I put it back together , that would effect my top end right ?

Dave
get your engagement up to at 5000 first (spring shim or two) make a big difference mine was at 4200 with no shim with the spring I sent you
