anyone use hand guard protectors with mirrors instead of real mirrors? for trail riding? powermadd seems to have a nice setup. any pics of anyone using the guard and or mirrors?
I have them on the 08 vecter.
The handgaurds are ok , but the mirrors are only good enough to see headlights up to about 200' back. the mirrors fall off way too easy also I lost my rt. side on the 1st ride this year.
they are held on w/dbl. stick tape. if you get them maybe epoxy them on.

If you have used regular mirrors these won't cut it. You CAN see a headlight behind you, but are no where near as good as the Yamaha mirrors I have on all my other sleds. I did lose 1 set, but the replacement's are holding up very well!!

Check your hyfax ...
I just added the mirrors to my guards (powermadd) they are screwed on ... no double sided tape.

Open your hood. Along the top edge, right near the rear edge of the windshield, there are 2 dimples in the plastic. When you get the mirror's, measure the size of the stud on them. Drill right through those dimples, slide the studs through the hoels and bolt 'em up!. They will probably go through a decal, all of mine did except the Venture. I have them on 2 XTC's, 1 Viper, and the Venture. I removed the oones on my Attak. Seat is tall enough that it is difficult to see anything in them. Very stable with a good field of view, when adjusted properly. Here's a pic of my Viper with them;
