Back in the day when I was a teen I made these folding trailers from a kit and my dad would sell them. I'd make like $50 for putting them together, wiring them, etc. I never had to see them after that.

Now I'm wondering how good those are.... You can get the kit pretty cheap at harbor freight. I'm just looking for a small trailer that I can put my ice fishing sled on to take it to the lake. It may come in handy if I ever sell my truck if I need lumber or drywall or such. It would need to fold up so I could store it in my garage out of the way.

I'm wondering if I should get a kit and use it or it is not worth the time and $?

I know a few guys that use them for towing their streetbikes to track days.

They seem to hold up pretty well, but then again most sportbikes are at least 100 lbs less than most sleds.

Most of them are rated for about 1000#'s of payload. I'm talking an 89 ovation....a fan cooled 340.... I know that machine doesn't go that weight. I don't see me getting 1/2 ton of lumber in it. If I need stone, I can get that delivered pretty easy.
