While replacing the carb rack, I noticed that the choke cable was keeping the choke pins partially extended, and I could not use the second choke position. I adjusted the cable until the choke pins in the carbs were fully 'in'. Is this correct? If so, seems I've been running on partial choke this whole time. My sled does smoke alot, maybe this was why?

Oil cable... seems that cable likes to separate? Is there any pics how to properly adjust this one?

Make sure that your cable is seated home at all junctions to make sure that you did not over adjust the length. If you cable likes to seperate check the linkage on the carbs as it may be stiff or hanging up and not letting the shaft return "home" so to speak. T

Should the choke pins in the carbs be fully 'in' with the choke off?

Throttle cable seems to work fine.

Not sure at all on the oil cable. Is the adjustment mid cable, or down near the end (remove carbs to adjust)?

Yes the pins should be fully in "seated" as there is no way to meter or measure just how gar out each choke plunger is exactly. The adjuster should be mid cable for the oiler, all cables should have some sort of adjuster on it. T

sweet... with choke off, they were sticking out probably 1/16"+, so that should help clean it up I'd think.

How do you tell that you need to adjust the oiler, as opposed to carbs? So much to learn...

The book for my old srx(not SxR) shows that there should be 20-22 mm distance between the adjuster and the ferrul of the oil pump cable with the oil cable housing pulled out of the adjuster. Does that make sense?? I don't know if this is the same way to adjust the oil pump on our SxR's. My thin suppliment manual for my sxr dont show squat. T

^ these guy's got ya cover pretty well...

i would just like to add if you doing that you may as well do it all so it's
right.

Do these checks in this order;

1st- set idle to 16- 1,7000 rpm's(@ operating temp)

2nd- set throttle end play to 2mm(adjustment for that is down at the carb rack)

3rd- set oil pump cable free play here and here to 21(richer)to 23(leaner)mm

then set choke anytime to 1.5mm
