I had a crash saturday, because we have to little snow to sled we made our first trip to the mountains for this winter. After 3-4 miles I hit a stone at 60 mph, gave the sled a flight around 30 feet and me about 10 feet longer. Not a good start on the season. I think to change the heat exchanger and some work on the with the alu and it will be OK.

You're pretty lucky you didn't get hurt. Maybe look into checking that drive axle and your drivers. I had a buddy to the same last season and over looked this and had a bad vibration, until we found it was a bent drive axle.

I second that notion, check the axle for trueness, ( or how ever the hell you spell it). Is that coolant on the bottom of the belly pan?? I'm assuming that the exchanger is punctured pretty bad and that IS coolant.

yes, looks toast to me...JohnnyQuest said:Is that coolant on the bottom of the belly pan?? I'm assuming that the exchanger is punctured pretty bad and that IS coolant.
coolant
Yes that is coolant but it was easy to see, if I hadn´t maybe I had overheated and damaged the engine. And I will check the driveaxle for straightness. I´m going to change to 8 tooth antiratchet drivers(waiting to get them from richmotorsports)and put in a 1.25 studded track so I was going to take out the driveaxle anyway. Must also find a heat exchanger.

Glad your not hurt. I'm alway's on the lookout for those nasty rocks. You never no where they are untill its too late.
You're lucky you hit it dead center. A couple of inches to the left or right and you would have been barrel rolling. Same thing happened to me. I was lucky. Rock tore my belly protector clean off. Only damage was the belly protector and 2 slices down the plastic belly pan about 5" long where the bolts connected the protector.
belly protector
I was lucky, I was thrown off the sled when it hit the stone and flying head before side by side with the sled. Was very afraid to get the sled on me if it had started to roll. I had a belly protector on it, took it off to inspect the damage or else the damage would have been worse. Maybe the stone could have damaged the control rods and frame.
