exciter/phazer interchange

Hi, great forum lots of good info. Anyways I bought an 89 exciter that needs a hood. It was in a front end accident with a 4X4 post. Would a phazer or exciter II hood fit on without problems? I really dont want to stick hundreds of dollars gettin the sled cosmetically perfect, just want something that works and Ive tried searching for a while but nothing really has come up and I see hoods from the phazers and exciters going cheaper on ebay than the 87-90 exciters.

Phazer hoods are different. I'm preaty sure Exciter II hoods will fit on Exciters. What color is your hood? Dark grey? I've got an Exciter parts sled in the barn 87-89? and I think the hood is good on it. I also have a 92 Exciter II that has a good hood.

yeah its a dark grey. The sled looked pretty good before the accident. send me a pm if youd please. If it would fit for sure, that exciter II might look nice....

EX2 hood will fit on your EX, the nose and side panels are the same. The hinges may be different but they bolt into the same pattern on the bumper.

However, and I don't remember for sure, when they did the 2 the hood comes up higher in the back as well as further back and I don't remember if it will hit the old fairing, the 2 has a different fairing.
