Why does my track rub on the upper shock mount of the rear shock and what can I do to fix it? It looks like the upper large wheels need to be bigger or set back more.
rub
Do you have stock shocks or aftermarket?
As Ivé seen the track normal rubs a little on the shock mount but it´s not a problem, but Ivé seen that if you have ohlins shocks that is a little wider than stock it´s a problem you can rub throw the rear mount of the rear shock. The solution is to weld in your own shock protector.

not much u can do its pretty normal and on just about any sled ive seen has it to some degree. other then putting lager wheels up top which ohlins recomends that are 7.5 inches. ive also seen some people put a some small bearings and a longer bolt on the upper shock mount. they put the bearings on the out side off the shock mount and use a longer bolt to hold them and the shock.
Every yamaha I've seen does it.If you add larger wheels your just adding more of a bend and creating more friction on the track turning.

I thought there was a wear pad(part of the rear arm and shock mount) right where the rear of the shock mounts to.

My buddies appex was doing that and he bought a kit from ulmer racing that fixed it.Its basically two bearings that mount on each side of the shock mount. The bearings roll on the track and keep the shock and mount clear.
