I'm looking for a thumb warmer for a 1987 Exciter. If I order the throttle lever from the online fiche - LEVER,THROTTLE
8V0-42138-00-00 - will it include the thumb warmer? Or, is there another part number for the OEM warmer or do I have to go aftermarket?

Thanks

I think you would have to order a lever for an electric start Exciter to get the warmer.
Put it in the hands of the dealer. You won't have to deal with it, just tell them what you want and let them get the correct one.

All the thumb lever's i have bought'en have the warmer pad on,yes comes
on the lever..

Not on a sled as old as a 87 Exciter. It did not originally come with one. I had one and I had to add a thumb warmer. Look at the Yamaha Fiche on-line. It is very helpful.

A fiche show's the block but unclear if it's on there..
i just got off the phone with my BL,asked if his '88 has it he said yes,
but unclear if it's OEM,he bought the sled from the original owner with
low miles back then and they were on there already,,,so unclear.

replaced the T/W on my '94 PZ two seasons ago and it had it on,
you could be right then..it's too old.

The early Phazer models with electric start (Phazer Deluxe) had warmers, the non electric start models did not. I am assuming it was the same with the Exciter.

OK, I see that the part number for a 1990 EX570 E is different (LEVER, THROTTLE 80N-42138-02-00) but is it safe to assume that it will come with the thumb warmer? And then the question becomes, will it work with my '87 throttle block or would I need a new one?

Nope, no butterflies. So, are there any dealers or anyone that can verify that the part number I listed above for the 570E comes with a thumb warmer?
